Instructions for use

Preparation for application
The substrate must be dry, free from frost, dust and efflorescence, non-water-repellent and sound.

Product preparation
Mix Mastofix Hydro Light with approximately 6–6.25 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag in a clean container, stirring constantly with a slow-speed mortar mixer (max. 500 rpm) until the mixture is homogeneous, then leave to rest for approximately 5 minutes. Stir again and, if necessary, adjust the consistency with a small amount of water. Do not add any other substances to the product.

Installation instructions
Bonding of insulation boards: apply the adhesive using the dot-and-dash method (bonding area approx. 40%). Stripe width approx. 5 cm, height approx. 2 cm. Skimming of insulation boards: apply the skim coat approx. 2–3 days after bonding (depending on weather conditions; additional dowelling may be required) to a minimum thickness of 3 mm, then spread using a suitable T 16 notched trowel. Embed the SSA-1363-160 reinforcement mesh into the skim coat (outer third); at the joints, overlap by at least 10 cm and cover it completely with the trowel. Once the skim coat is completely dry (up to 7 days depending on weather conditions), the suitable Torggler eTics wall coating can be applied. The pot life of the mixture is approximately 4 hours. Any material remaining in open containers must not be reused or mixed with fresh material. During application and drying, the temperature of the surrounding environment and the substrate must not fall below +5 °C. Until completely dry, protect from frost, excessive drying (direct sunlight, wind) and subsequent moisture (rain). Insulation panels for skirting, coated with a system-specific adhesive and levelling compound and wall covering, must be waterproofed with Torggler Flex 1K or Flexistar in the area below ground level, extending to approx. 10 cm below the lower edge of the skim coat and up to a maximum of 5 cm above ground level (finished with a skirting profile). The relevant national regulations must be observed in all cases.

Storage

See the information on the packaging in accordance with Directive 2003/53/EC. Store Mastofix Hydro Light in a dry, sheltered place. It will keep for at least 12 months in its original, unopened bags. Keep away from moisture.
