Instructions for use
Substrate preparation
Substrate preparation is essential; therefore, the surface to be treated must be free from any contaminants, dry, sound and, in the case of concrete, must have a tensile strength of at least 1.5 MPa. In all cases, surface preparation is required by shot-blasting or sanding the concrete and pressure washing the bituminous surface. Any free or standing water originating from the substrate, previous washing operations or weather conditions must be removed or dried using appropriate methods.
Product preparation
Single-component, ready-to-use product.
Application
Apply using standard painting equipment such as a brush, roller or airless spray. Apply ‘Polyurea Primer Rapid’ at a rate of 150–200 g/m², avoiding product build-up. After application, allow 2 to 48 hours to dry, depending on the ambient temperature.
Cleaning tools
Tools used for mixing and applying the material can be cleaned with thinner. Hardened material on tools and the mixer can only be removed mechanically.
Storage
When kept in its original sealed packaging in a dry, protected place at a temperature between +5 °C and +35 °C, the product has a shelf life of 6 months.
Warnings
- Do not dilute ‘Polyurea Primer Rapid’ with water or other substances.
- Do not apply ‘Polyurea Primer Rapid’ to substrates subject to rising damp or with residual moisture content exceeding 4%.
- Do not apply ‘Polyurea Primer Rapid’ to substrates that are dusty, crumbly or contaminated with oils, grease or general dirt.
- Apply ‘Polyurea Primer Rapid’ only if the substrate temperature is at least 3°C above the dew point.
