Details

A single-component, acrylic-based, water-dispersed elastoplastic sealant for the paintable sealing of cracks, fissures and expansion joints between façade elements, with a maximum service elongation of 10 per cent.

Instructions for use

  • The sides of the joint must be solid, clean and uniform.
  • The dimensions of the seal must be a minimum of 6 x 6 mm and a maximum of 15 x 7.5 mm.
  • For deep expansion joints, insert the sealing cord.
  • A 2.1 No primer is required: on highly absorbent substrates, first apply ‘A 2.1’ diluted with water using a brush.
  • Cut the nozzle to a diameter proportional to the joint dimensions. Inject a generous amount of ‘A 2.1’. Smooth with a spatula moistened with ‘Smooth’ levelling compound before a surface film begins to form. Apply sufficient pressure to ensure the joint is filled without voids and that the sealant adheres fully to the sides of the joint.

Storage

Store in a dry place, away from frost and heat. It will keep for at least 24 months in its original packaging.

Warnings

  • Not suitable for joints that are subject to foot traffic or constantly exposed to water.
  • Do not apply if there is a risk of rain.
  • Do not apply to joints subject to heavy stress.
  • Do not store or apply at temperatures below 0 °C.
  • Clean tools with water if ‘A 2.1’ is still fresh; clean mechanically or with organic solvents if it has set.

For sealing cracks and for use on joints between building elements, whether vertical or horizontal, provided there is no persistent water pooling. Can be painted once cured. Excellent adhesion to porous substrates – including damp ones – provided they are clean and sound: plasterboard, render, masonry, timber, fibre cement and concrete.
