Oven-dried, washed quartz sand, intended for use as a filler in epoxy and polyurethane resin systems.

Oven-dried, washed quartz sand, intended for use as a filler in epoxy and polyurethane resin systems.

Application areas

Choose Quarz Sand for

  • Production of resin-based mortars for screed coatings or for floor repairs.
  • Production of self-levelling resin-based fluid mortars or for skimming cementitious surfaces.
  • Production of self-levelling, multi-layer or screed resin coatings. Quartz sands can be mixed with epoxy or polyurethane resins for this purpose. They can also be used to produce resin mortars for grouting, repairing joints or holes in floors, creating chamfers or transitions, etc.
  • Finally, quartz sands can be used for embedding in still-fresh resin layers to increase their thickness and roughen the surface where non-slip finishes are required or to improve the adhesion of any subsequent layers of further resinous or cementitious products.
  • For the correct choice of sand mixture type, application method and consumption, please refer to the technical data sheets of the resin or cementitious products to be applied.
  • Application on resinous substrates in multi-layer coatings or as a bonding layer for subsequent applications of resinous or cementitious products.
  • Creation of non-slip finishes.

Details

Quartz sand consisting of selected high-purity quartz grains, washed and oven-dried, with a particle size distribution of 0.8–1.2 mm, for use with epoxy or polyurethane resins in the production of protective coatings, fillers, repairs, screeds, FRP reinforcements, skim coats, etc.

Instructions for use

Quartz sand can be mixed with epoxy or polyurethane resins to create self-levelling, multi-layer or mortar screed resin coatings. It can also be used to produce resin mortars for grouting, repairing joints or holes in floors, creating chamfers or transitions, etc.
Finally, quartz sand can be used for embedding in still-fresh resin layers to increase their thickness and roughen the surface where non-slip finishes are required or to improve the adhesion of any subsequent layers of further resinous or cementitious products. Depending on the intended use, it can be mixed with the resin matrix in a ratio of 1:0.5 up to 1:5.

Storage

The product must be stored in its original packaging in a dry place.

Warnings

  • Quartz sand is not classified as hazardous under current regulations on the classification of substances and mixtures.
  • It is recommended that you wear gloves and safety goggles and take the usual precautions when handling chemicals.
