Finissimo is a ready-to-use, pre-mixed, fine-grain mortar. Just add water and mix. The product formula consists of special hydraulic binders, hydrated lime, calcium carbonate crystal powder, adhesive resins and specific additives. The product is designed for use as an indoor finish plaster on intonaco WTAe risan one. Mixed with water it forms a creamy plaster with excellent workability and good thixotropic properties. Easy to apply with a trowel. Excellent adhesion and fully compatible with plaster substrates. Thanks to its special formula, when applied the product forms a porous structure which ensures a very high level of breathability and an excellent smooth appearance. Finissimo is available in white
1. Old substrates made from cement, cement-lime and hydraulic lime mortars and plasters:
The surface to be treated must be clean and solid, without any dust, loose material or dirt of any kind. Remove all traces of oil, grease, paints and synthetic coatings. Prepare and thoroughly wet the substrate. Allow any excess surface water to evaporate. Use a breathable finishing plaster to repair any surface irregularities exceeding 5 mm.
2.New renovating and dehumidifying plasters:
Wait until the plaster is fully cured. (Allow at least one day for each millimetre of thickness of the renovating/dehumidifying plaster applied). Check that the surface of the plaster is rough enough to provide a good key. If necessary, roughen the substrate with a suitable tool. Prepare and thoroughly wet the substrate. Allow any excess surface water to evaporate.
Mix finissimo with 38 to 40% water, i.e. with approx. 5.7 to 6.0 litres for a 15 kg bag. Mix with a mechanical stirrer (a low-speed drill with a mixer attachment) for at approximately 2 minutes until you have a smooth, lump-free, plastic, aerated mix. Allow the mixture to stand for about 10 minutes and then mix again briefly. The mix prepared in this way has a pot life of about 90 minutes under normal conditions (20 °C). Higher temperatures reduce the pot life, lower temperatures increase it. Apply the mix using a smooth stainless steel paddle to create a layer no thicker than 2 mm. Allow the first coat to harden for approximately 2-3 hours and then remove any flaws. Apply a second coat and work the surface repeatedly using a smooth stainless steel paddle to create a smooth surface. Use a slightly damp, smooth stainless steel paddle to work the surface over and over again to increase the shiny effect. Using the smooth stainless steel paddle to work the surface ensures a perfectly smooth finish. When this operation is complete and the surface is dry, very fine sandpaper can be used to remove any small imperfections remaining. Allow the smooth finish to harden for at least 21 days. After this time you can paint the surface with risan pittura or other silosanic, silicate or lime paints provided that they are of the breathable type. The tools used for applying the mortar may be cleaned with water before it hardens. Once hardened, the mortar must be scraped off.
Store finissimo in a dry, protected place. Unopened in its original bags, the product can be stored for at least 12 months.
