PU HM Edilia is a single-component, thixotropic, polyurethane adhesive/sealant with high modulus of elasticity for paintable elastic sealing of expansion joints with a maximum working elongation of 25%. It does not develop unpleasant odours during application, it hardens by reaction with the humidity in the air, it does not release acid or basic substances that can corrode metal substrates and it does not affect paints. It has excellent adhesion both on porous (masonry, concrete, plaster, wood) and non-porous (painted/not painted metal, plastic, glass, enamelled and porcelain surfaces) substrates, even wet surfaces provided they are clean and consistent. Once hardened, it provides high adhesive strength, permanent flexibility, good resistance to UV radiation, weather and water stagnation. After hardening it is overpaintable: in any case, it is recommended to perform preliminary tests with the chosen paints. According to EN 15651-1 PU HM Edilia is classified as a non-structural sealant for façades F EXT-INT and according to EN 15651-4 as a non-structural sealant for pedestrian walkways PW EXT-INT.
Tools cleaning
Tools cleaning in the plastic status of the sealant using acetone or solvents; after hardening only mechanically.
PU HM Edilia must be stored in a dry and cool environment between 5 and 25 °C, away from humidity, direct sunlight and heat sources. Under these conditions and in the original sealed packaging, its storage stability is at least 12 months.
Prior to use, test the paints for compatibility. Normally paints are stiffer, so if the joint is subjected to tensile or compressive stress, the paint on the joint may crack.

PU HM Edilia is ideal for sealing horizontal and vertical connection joints and expansion joints when installing any element that forms a building envelope or when assembling prefabricated concrete panels. In fact its characteristics are suitable to allow the sealings to absorb the movements transmitted to the building by atmospheric, vibrational and mechanical stresses. PU HM Edilia elastically connects the sides of the joint, absorbing, without detachment, the movement of the adjacent construction elements, originating from differential thermo-hygrometric expansion or settlement. It therefore guarantees a perfect seal over time to water and air. Paintability after hardening ensures that the façades have a uniform, uninterrupted final appearance. Due to its high abrasion resistance, it is also used as a sealant for creating floor expansion joints on both tiled and concrete surfaces. It is also suitable for use as an adhesive due to its high modulus of elasticity and high adhesive strength on a wide range of materials.
