Flex 365 is a flexible, single-component polyurethane foam with an all-season formulation, suitable for the installation of sub-frames and frames for windows and doors made of wood, PVC or aluminium. Thanks to its permanent elasticity and compressibility, it absorbs vibrations and minor movements in the structure, compensates for the thermal expansion of the supporting structures, prevents heat loss, water ingress and ensures thermal and acoustic insulation at the primary and secondary installation joints of doors and windows. The use of a special blend of propellants allows it to be used even at ambient temperatures as low as -10 °C. It complies with the performance characteristics set out in UNI 11673-1 ‘Installation of windows and doors’ with regard to sound insulation parameters, air permeability, vapour permeability, elongation at break, elastic recovery and volume loss. Post-expansion volume shrinkage is practically zero. This characteristic offers a twofold advantage: it prevents tensile stresses caused by misalignment of the sub-frames and eliminates the need for a second ‘pass’ to complete the filling. Flex 365 is a viable alternative to the use of multifunctional tapes, particularly when the need for bonding is combined with the requirement to insulate joints.
Cleaning
Traces of uncured Flex 365, for example on clothing, tools, window frames, etc., can be cleaned with foam solvent. Cured product can only be removed mechanically (by scraping or sanding). Any residue in the valve can be easily removed once it has fully cured.
Notes
Storing the cylinder away from direct sunlight and low temperatures ensures a more consistent extrusion and a more uniform final cell structure. At low temperatures, both the pressure at which the fresh material exits the valve and the yield of cured foam are reduced. To achieve a good yield, it is recommended that the cylinder be stored at a temperature of approximately +20 °C and in any case never below +5 °C. At higher temperatures, it may be difficult to dose the product correctly, as the increase in pressure inside the cylinder makes it harder to control the flow of material from the valve.
Flex 365, in its original, unopened packaging, has a shelf life of at least 12 months if stored upright in a dry place at temperatures between +15 °C and +25 °C, away from water, low temperatures and direct sunlight.
Substrates and objects that are completely saturated with water prevent the foam from adhering. The Flex 365 cylinder is a pressurised container. Protect from direct sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 °C. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Do not spray onto a flame or any incandescent object. Keep away from all sources of ignition, flames and sparks. Do not smoke. Do not breathe in the aerosols. Keep out of the reach of children. This product contains highly flammable components; therefore, use it only in well-ventilated areas. Particularly when using several cans in the same area, there is a risk of explosive air/propellant gas mixtures forming. Contains 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (EC No. 615-005-00-9). Harmful if inhaled. Irritating to the eyes, respiratory tract and skin. May cause sensitisation by inhalation and skin contact. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of skin contact, wash immediately and thoroughly with soap and water. Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. In case of inadequate ventilation, use a suitable respirator. In the event of an accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (if possible, show the label to the doctor). Read the information on the safety data sheet carefully.
