Details

Quarz is a mixture of cement, pure quartz aggregates of high hardness and special additives based on synthetic polymers characterized by strong dispersing power. Quarz is used to create industrial floors with excellent abrasion resistance, high surface density, good penetration resistance, easy cleaning.
Quarz is classified as screed material type CT-C70-F7-AR1.

Instructions for use

Preparation for use
Prepare the base with the appropriate bearing capacity:

  • the concrete must be dosed at 300 kg of cement 32.5 CEM I and/or CEM II per m3 of concrete and have a low A/C factor;
  • the aggregates must be of a suitable particle size and in accordance with the thickness of the concrete screed;
  • the thickness of the screed must be at least 15 cm and in any case depending on the concentrated loads acting on the floor;
  • the concrete must be properly tamped, stabled and finished with plastering trowel.

Product preparation
Quarz is ready to use.

Instructions for use
The surface dry-shake finishing with Quarz can be carried out either manually or mechanically and must be carried out on the surface of the screed still fresh and suitably revived. In the case of manual application, the dry-shake finishing operation must be carried out with an overturned trowel or steel spatula in two coats divided into approx. 3 kg per m2 for the first and 1 kg per m2 for the second. In the case of mechanical application, the dry-shake operation must be carried out in a single coat for a consumption of approx. 4 kg per m2. Finally, perform the smoothing with a finishing machine or by hand. The joints are engraved at intervals of up to 4 metres. The floor must be kept wet for at least 8 days or treated with a suitable anti-evaporating product. Seal with Torggler silicone sealant (in case of possible contact with oils or fuels). Protect the floor from superficial soiling and only after 2 weeks after installation can it come into operation.

Storage

When stored in its original packaging, in a dry and sheltered place Quarz is stable for at least 12 months. PROTECT FROM HUMIDITY.

Warnings

  • Do not apply Quarz at temperatures below +5 °C or above +35 °C.
  • Never mix with other binders such as cement, hydraulic lime, gypsum, etc.
