Details

Multiuso is a singlecomponent polyurethane foam in an aerosol. The hardened foam may be cut, holed, sanded, painted and plastered. It adheres firmly to wood, concrete, brickwork, fibre cement, metal, glass and plastic with the exception of polyethylene, Teflon and silicone. The uniform, mainly closed cell structure, dimensional stability and mechanical properties of the cured foam make Multiuso the ideal product for sealing and plugging, filling, gluing, securing, insulating and sound-proofing.

Instructions for use

  1. Substrates must be sufficiently stable, clean, free of oil and grease, paint film residue, loose material, dust and dirt in general. They must also be adequately cured and free of significant shrinkage. Moisten, if necessary, before application to ensure that the fresh foam has the necessary humidity to form a uniform cell structure.
  2. Remove the protectionn cap from the can and screw it onto the appropriate gun (type T2000 from Torggler S.r.l.) or, in the case of the manual version, after removing the cap from the can, screw the nozzle supplied onto the valve.
  3. Shake the can for at least 15 seconds before use. Repeat this operation after each working break.
  4. Turn the aerosol can upside-down so that the valve is facing down, point the dispenser tube/gun as required and press it with your fingers. The amount of foam required to fill the cavity depends on the post expansion of the foam.
  5. Complete hardening of the foam is reached about one hour after application. After curing any surplus can be trimmed away with a knife or sanded with sandpaper.
  6. If the contents of the aerosol are not used completely, turn the aerosol the right way up and press the dispenser/gun for a few seconds. The gas jet produced will clear the valve, dispenser, extension nozzle or gun.

Cleaning
Traces of uncured foam e.g. on clothes, widows etc. can be removed using Cleaner for PU Foam. Cured foam must be removed mechanically (e.g. scraped off).

Storage

Store cool in an upright position. Avoid storage in a horizontal position, as this will quickly lead to the formation of fouling under the valve, which will irreparably impair the extrusion of the foam.
Multiuso is stable for at least 12 months if stored upright, cool (below 25 °C), in a dry place and in the original unopened packaging. Check the expiry date on the can.

Warnings

Foam yield is strongly dependent on can and substrate temperatures. At low temperatures, both the discharge pressure of fresh material from the valve and the yield of hardened foam are greatly reduced, and the post-expansion rate is increased. To achieve good yield, we recommend storing the can at a temperature of approximately +20 °C. At higher temperatures it may be difficult to dispense the product correctly, as the increased pressure inside the cylinder makes it less easy to control the release of material from the valve.

Substrates and objects completely water-saturated prevent adhesion of the foam.

The Multiuso can is a pressurized container. Protect from sunlight and do not expose it to temperatures above 50 °C. Do not puncture or burn, even after use. Do not spray over an open flame or on an incandescent element. Keep away from all sources of combustion. No smoking. Keep out of the reach of children. This product contains flammable components, so only use it in well-ventilated areas. There is the risk that explosive vapour/air mixtures may form, especially if more than one canister is used in the same location. Contains diphenylmethane-4,4’-diisocyanate (EEC no. 615-005-00-9). Extremely flammable. Harmful by inhalation. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment. In case of accident or if you feel unwell seek medical advice immediately (show the canister where possible).
