Aquatech Neo is a fast-drying, single-component emulsion waterproofing compound based on styrene-acrylic elastomers. The product can be applied with a roller or brush. During drying, an elastic and water-impermeable membrane forms, which is resistant to occasional standing water and can be walked on for inspection and maintenance work. Aquatech Neo is classified according to EN 14891 as a jointless, waterproof sealant for interior use of type DM. When installed, the product meets the requirements for Class E building materials in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1.
Preparation work prior to application
The substrate must be clean, dry, frost-free, solid, stable, dimensionally stable and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, release agents and loose particles. It must comply with the applicable national and European technical guidelines, standards and the “generally accepted rules of the trade”.
Product preparation
Always mix Aquatech Neo thoroughly before use. To improve adhesion on absorbent substrates, it is recommended to carry out a pre-treatment using “Aquatech Neo” diluted 1:1 with water, depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Coverage: approx. 150 g/m².
Application instructions
Once the primer is walkable (depending on ambient conditions, the waiting time is between two and ten hours), apply Aquatech Neo in at least two coats using a brush, roller or trowel, applying the coats in a criss-cross pattern. Aquatech Neo must be applied undiluted, i.e. at least 1 kg/m², to achieve a dried layer of approx. 0.5 mm. Each coat must only be applied once the previous coat is walkable. Aquatech Neo is available in two colours, white and grey, to allow the two coats to be distinguished by colour across the entire surface to be treated.
Application example
In accordance with DIN 18534 for wall and floor surfaces in water exposure classes W0-I to W2-I. Ready-to-use, two-colour, fast-drying, solvent-free liquid waterproofing membrane for sealing interior wall and floor surfaces in damp and wet rooms beneath ceramic and natural stone coverings. This includes floor surfaces in bathrooms without floor drains but with shower trays or bathtubs, and wall surfaces in sanitary areas in public and commercial premises with floor drains where there is no exposure to chemicals.
Suitable substrates
Depending on the moisture exposure classes or water exposure classes, suitable substrates include, for example, mineral substrates made of concrete, cement and lime-cement plasters, cement screeds, calcium sulphate screeds (anhydrite and anhydrite self-levelling screeds), and dry screeds.
System description/application
The substrate should be primed using Tile Primer (primer for absorbent substrates) or Multigrip (for non-absorbent and complex substrates). Both products are applied once using a roller or brush. The sealing collars with expansion zone and sealing lip, type Flex Pipe Collar 22-37, 50-75 and 93-146, the sealing tape PP TAPE or PP-Tape Lite 120 MM – made of TPE-coated, transversely stretchable and longitudinally stable polypropylene– fleece 120 mm, the prefabricated special internal and external corners Corner Tissue Corner Tissue or Corner Tissue Lite made from TPE-coated, transversely stretchable and longitudinally stable polypropylene fleece are bonded to the substrate using adhesive Tile 2020, Tile 480 or Tile 250 or Aquatech Neo. The Floor Collar is a TPE film laminated on both sides with PP fleece, which is inserted between the first and second layers of the liquid-applied Aquatech Neo.
Aquatech Neo has a shelf life of at least 12 months if stored in its original packaging in a cool place (at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C). PROTECT FROM MOISTURE:

The coverage of Aquatech Neo varies between 0.3 and 1.0 kg/m² per coat, depending on the substrate. On porous substrates, it is advisable to apply an initial bonding coat of ‘Aquatech Neo’, diluted 1:1 with water. In this case, the consumption of the undiluted product is 150–200 g/m².
