Details

Flash is a mix consisting of a rapid-setting hydraulic binder, aggregate with special granulometry and special additives. It is completely chloride-free. When mixed with water, it forms a highly thixotropic plastic mix which can be easily applied both horizontally and vertically. It sets in 3 – 5 minutes at 20 °C and can be walked on after 3 hours. It is especially recommended for internal applications. It is only suitable for small external applications. It is not subject to plastic shrinkage.

Instructions for use

The background must be cleaned and wet until it is saturated, especially when it is very absorbent or with high temperatures and strong winds. Very smooth backgrounds must be keyed. Add approx. 20 % in weight of water to the dry product. This corresponds to a dose of approx. 3,5 parts Flash and 1 part water. Mix well until you obtain an even plastic mortar. Because the product sets rapidly, only prepare small quantities which can be used immediately. Given that the temperature strongly influences the time required for Flash to set, in the cold season, the product must be kept away from the cold and mixed with lukewarm water. In the hot season, protect the product from the sun and mix it with cold water, away from the sun. Flash prepared in this way must be applied with a trowel or straight-edge within its potlife. Finish and smooth off quickly, before it has started to set.

Storage

Store in a dry and protected place. In the closed original packaging, the shelf life is at least 8 months for the 25 kg bags and 12 months for the 5 kg bags.

Warnings

  • Do not use the mixed product when it has already started to set.
  • Do not mix water with products which have started to set.
  • Do not mix with excessive quantities of water since the mechanical strength will diminish, especially the initial strength.
  • Do not mix with other binders, such as cement, hydraulic lime, gypsum, etc.
  • If the product in a pack is not used completely, seal the pack tightly, put it in a polythene bag and also seal this bag tightly to protect the product.
  • As for all cement-based products, never work or apply the product at temperatures lower than +5 °C.
