BW 100

Bituminous liquid waterproofer.

Bituminous liquid waterproofer.

  • It waterproofs concrete surfaces affected by micro cracks and surfaces subject to thermal expansion
  • Once dried it has excellent elasticity
  • It adapts to any surface geometry to be coated
  • Faster drying times compared to bituminous emulsions
  • Good resistance to stagnant water
  • Resistant to low temperatures: it can also be used in the winter period
  • Excellent resistance on surfaces of industrial areas

Details

BW 100 is a liquid bituminous elastomeric waterproofing agent containing bitumen, solvents, inert fillers, elastomeric resins, plasticizers, additives. Suitable for waterproofing old bituminous sheaths, flat roofs on cement surfaces which cannot be walked on, walls against the ground and foundations, sheet metal roofs, roof parts.

Instructions for use

Preparation for use
Make sure that detached parts, brittle or non-adherent parts, paint, rust, dust, release agent oils are removed and thoroughly clean surfaces that must be solid and dry. Check that the waterproofing is prepared for regular rainwater runoff. Apply at temperatures between -10 °C and +35 °C; avoid extreme hot and cold conditions during application and drying of the film.

Product preparation
Mix BW 100 before application.

Instructions for use
BW 100 can be applied with a roller, brush, spray (dilution with nitro thinner or common solvent bituminous primers is possible), long-handled scrubbing brush, masonry trowel or toothed trowel. Application in two or three coats is recommended. Apply the second coat when the first one is completely dry. On surfaces larger than 10 m², critical points or mechanically stressed substrates we recommend reinforcing BW 100 with suitable Torggler NT50 non-woven polyester reinforcement buried in the first coat while still fresh.
Use the most common synthetic thinners for cleaning tools.

Storage

Store BW 100 in a dry and sheltered place in the original packaging. Do not expose the packages to temperatures above +30 °C and keep away from heat sources and open flames, as it is a flammable product. It will keep for at least 24 months. Frost resistant.

Warnings

Do not use BW 100 in unventilated rooms or indoors.
It is advisable not to exceed the above mentioned consumptions, because there could be an imperfect drying of the film in depth, due to the permanence, under the surface layer, of fractions of solvent not evaporated and this for the total impermeability of the surface dried film, which prevents their normal evaporation.
If the product applied remains visible, the dried film must be protected with reflective paints or coloured decorative paints. It is recommended to paint only a few months after its application.
Do not apply on very hot substrates that would cause negative consequences on the cohesion and adhesion of the product to the substrate.
It may be walked on occasionally in cases of occasional maintenance.
Do not use on surfaces subject to rising or high water pressure.
