The atmosphere is festive and steeped in history. In the grand hall of the Kursaal in Merano, amid atmospheric lighting and live music, you can sense that this is not just a company anniversary, but an encounter between the past and the future. An evening full of memories, familiar faces and great gratitude, with which Torggler celebrated its 160th anniversary.

Around 450 invited guests, employees, partners, customers and representatives from business, politics and society took part in the event and embarked together on a journey full of emotions and memories. From the small grocery store founded in 1865 in the centre of Merano, Torggler has developed over time into an international benchmark in construction chemicals, a development that has been built step by step between challenges, changes and an inexhaustible desire for innovation.

The evening, elegantly and naturally hosted by journalist Maddalena Quaia, began with a welcome aperitif. On stage, the Johannes family and CEO Benno Pamer reviewed the most important stages in the company’s history – a journey marked by passion, commitment and the ability to innovate, while always remaining true to its values.

A particularly significant moment was the presentation of the new company chronicle by journalist and director Thomas Hanifle, which is the result of two years of research. Carlo Alberto Visani, former technical director, provided valuable insights and made a decisive contribution to the research. The book not only tells the story of Torggler’s growth, but also an important part of South Tyrol’s economic history, linking faces, innovations and places that have shaped an era.

During the evening, Benno Pamer, together with Tobias and Felix Johannes, presented the strategies and projects for the future to the audience and spoke about sustainability, digitalisation and a culture of innovation – values that will continue to guide Torggler in the coming decades.

“Our strength lies in combining the tried and tested with the new. For us, innovation does not mean breaking with tradition, but developing it further together with the people who fill Torggler with life every day,” Pamer emphasised in his speech.

A moving moment was the speech by Christian Johannes, who, on behalf of the entrepreneurial family, recalled the pioneering spirit of past generations, the courage and curiosity that still inspire the company’s path today.

Today, Torggler is represented throughout Europe, with branches in Marling, Oberhaching (Germany), Zgierz (Poland), Rieti and Pegognaga (Italy), and has established itself as a reliable partner in the fields of construction chemicals, window manufacturing and shipbuilding.

After the speeches, the evening continued in a convivial and authentic atmosphere, with conversations and a refined buffet in the Kursaal. The celebration then turned into a moment of exchange and cheerfulness, with music, smiles and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see different generations coming together, united by the same passion and desire to look to the future together.

This anniversary reminded us all that Torggler is not just a company, but a community of people. Our motto – ‘Shaped by innovation, driven by people’ – perfectly sums up who we are and who we want to continue to be.
