Details

Finish Acryl is a paint based on acrylic copolymers in water emulsion, colour pigments and mineral fillers of various grain sizes. The type of binder used gives the product a high water vapour permeability, adequate resistance to alkalis and weather, remarkable workability and adhesion. The use of lightfast and alkali-resistant pigments ensures colour stability even on walls that are particularly exposed to light radiation and weather. It also contains special film preservatives, which give the coating preventive protection against algae and fungal growth. The product is available in white and colours that can be produced using the tintometric system.

Instructions for use

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Product dilution and preparation

  • Brush application: max 10% with water;
  • Roller application: max 10% with water;
  • Spray application: 10÷20% with water – Nozzle LTX 419/HDA 329 (ref. GRACO ULTRA MAX 2-795 machine). Pressure 140/150 bar;

Application tools

  • Brush;
  • Wool roller;
  • Airless;

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
New, cured, homogeneous, civil-finished wall surfaces:
New plasters must be left to cure for at least 4 to 6 weeks for the natural carbonation process to complete. Clean thoroughly the surfaces by removing all traces of dust, dirt and loose parts. Check that the wall is perfectly dry and apply a coat of water-based primer properly diluted with water. In the case of crumbling substrates to be consolidated, apply a coat of TORGGLER CONSOLIDA high-penetration fixative, applied as is, wait 24 hours before proceeding with the subsequent finish.

Cementitious, cement-lime mortar wall surfaces, already coated, painted or partially deteriorated:
Any patches made with TORGGLER products must be left to cure (at least 7 to 10 days) until the natural carbonation process is complete. Remove all traces of flaking, non-adhering product and any efflorescence, if necessary strip and wash the surface with steam cleaner. If mould is present, a treatment with an anti-mould solution must be carried out. Brush the substrate vigorously, removing all traces of dust, dirt and loose parts. Check that the wall is perfectly dry and consolidate the substrate by applying a coat of Consolida water-based primer properly diluted with water. In the case of substrates to be consolidated or particularly absorbent, alternatively apply solvent fixative as is and wait 24 hours.

Practical tips

  • Apply a single lot on the same façade or request batch continuation;
  • Touch-ups: for best results, use a roller;
  • In the case of very large surfaces, provide appropriate interruptions near downpipes or technical joints;
  • Protect the finish with tarpaulins from rain, frost, dew and dust for at least 48 hours (until completely dry);
  • Store the product in its original packaging at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C;
  • Avoid application in direct sunlight, or particularly windy days;

Rainwater resistance
The product completes the drying and curing process within 8÷10 days under optimal environmental conditions (+5°C / +35°C; R.H. max. 75%). If the product, during this period of time undergoes runoff from rainwater, it could result in unsightly drippings with a translucent and sticky appearance. This phenomenon, which is temporary in nature, does not affect the quality characteristics of the product and can be easily eliminated by hydro-washing or by waiting for the next rainy event.

Known Incompatibilities
None. For any use other than that stated in this data sheet, contact our Technical Service Department.

Tools cleaning
Clean the tools with water immediately after use.

Safety Precautions

  • Close the can immediately after use;
  • Keep tightly closed, undiluted, away from heat sources, away from frost and direct sunlight;
  • Safety information for the user is contained in the relevant safety data sheet;
  • Empty containers or those with slight traces of dried residual product film must be disposed of according to local regulations;

Warnings

  • Do not apply on sunny walls or with ambient or substrate temperature conditions that may fall below +5 °C or above +35 °C in the first 24 hours after application; relative humidity must not exceed 75%;
  • Apply on homogeneous substrates, complete the façade-wall without stopping, avoid recoating material that is already dry;
  • New plasters must be left to cure for at least 4÷6 weeks to complete the natural carbonation process. Even brand new patches must be left to cure perfectly;
  • To achieve maximum performance of eTics Finish Siloxan, any pre-existing film-forming coating must be completely removed;
  • Maximum water repellency performance is achieved after 28 days of curing;
  • Protect the façade with tarpaulins after application from adverse weather conditions and dust for at least 48 hours;
