Marble & Stone is a neutral silicone sealant with low elastic modulus formulated for applications on marble and natural stone, as it prevents the appearance of unsightly streaks caused by the organic plasticisers contained in conventional silicone sealants. Thanks to its exceptional resistance to UV rays, atmospheric agents and ageing, its excellent adhesive properties and its high elasticity linked to its low elastic modulus, Marble & Stone can be used advantageously as a sealant for joints both indoors and outdoors in any context. It is also used in glazing and sanitary environments as it is resistant to mould. During polymerisation, no acidic or basic substances are developed that could affect metal substrates. Marble & Stone is classified as a non-structural sealant for façade elements (F-EXT/INT according to EN 15651-1), for glazing (G according to EN 15651-2) and for sanitary applications (XS1 according to EN 15651-3). The product is certified as EC1 by the GEV body in terms of very low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Joint dimensions:
Minimum width = 6 mm.
For widths up to 10 mm, the depth must be equal to the width of the joint and in any case not less than 6 mm.
For widths from 10 to 20 mm, the depth must be at least 10 mm.
For widths over 20 mm, the depth must be half the width.
The sides of the joint must be clean, degreased and dry. For porous substrates, it is advisable to treat them beforehand with SILICONE PRIMER. Deep expansion joints must be properly filled with suitable preformed products, such as Torggler Filling Cord.
Stretch adhesive tape along the sides of the joint.
Insert the cartridge into the appropriate gun, open it, screw on the nozzle and cut the tip to obtain a sufficient opening.
Inject the sealant generously.
Smooth with a spatula moistened with SMOOTH within 5 minutes of application, applying a certain amount of pressure to eliminate air pockets.
Remove the adhesive tape immediately after smoothing.
Tool cleaning
While the sealant is still plastic, use solvents; after hardening, only mechanical cleaning is possible.
In its original, unopened packaging and if stored in a cool, dry place, the product will remain unaltered for a period of not less than 12 months. Cartridges that are not completely used up can be stored for approximately 3 months if tightly closed.
Marble & Stone is not suitable for structural bonding.
Marble & Stone does not adhere to Teflon, polyethylene and polypropylene, or to damp surfaces.
Marble & Stone cannot be painted over.
