Details

Transparent pre-coating for silicone and hybrid sealants and adhesives, based on solvent evaporation-curing resins, for treating the flanks of expansion joints subject to high stress or where adhesion may be difficult.

Instructions for use

The joint flanks must be dry, solid, clean, degreased, consistent and free of loose particles. The coating should form a bubble-free film; do not overdo during application, one full brush stroke on each sidewall is sufficient. Wait at least 30 minutes, but no more than 6 hours, to allow solvents to evaporate. Just touch lightly to ensure that the treated surface is not sticky, before proceeding with the extrusion of the sealant.

Warnings

Do not apply at temperatures below 0°C. Avoid immediate application of sealant on fresh primer: the solvent reacts with the fresh sealant mass and impairs curing. If applied outside the joint flanks, the product darkens the colour of the surfaces, creating a wet effect.

Packaged in a practical metal can, Sitol® Primer Deck Caulking is ready to use and requires no further dilution. It is compatible with all silicone sealants regardless of the specific chemical nature of the product (neutral or acetic), compatible with all polymers of a hybrid nature. Particularly suitable for laying on absorbent or dubious surfaces, for the preparation of compounds in teak flooring, for the pre-treatment of absorbent or particularly stressed substrates before gluing. Applied preliminarily on the sides of the joint, it improves the adhesion of the sealant, making it more effective against physical and mechanical stress, including under water.
