Details

Acryl 10 is a single-component sealant based on acrylic polymers dispersed in a water base. When the product is applied, the water base evaporates leaving a hardened flexible plastic mass with excellent resistance to ageing. Acryl 10 also adheres on damp substrates. It is easy to apply, does not drip and can be smoothed off quickly. The tools used for application can be washed with water. It is ideal for sealing indoor and outdoor joints with a maximum expansion of 12,5%. On outside surfaces Acryl 10 is recommended for joints on vertical or horizontal surfaces, in all cases where water cannot collect. Acryl 10 is classified as a non-structural sealant for internal and external facade components (type F-EXT/INT), in accordance with EN 15651-1. The product awarded the EC 1 Plus label by the GEV association for very low emissions of volatile organic compounds.

Instructions for use

  1. The sides of the joint must be solid, clean and grease-free. Acryl 10 does not require primer. With porous substrates and in the hot season we recommend dampening the surfaces. In the case of critical surfaces, to improve adhesion, it can be advantageous to apply, using a brush, a bottom coat obtained by diluting one part of sealant in 10 parts of water. Deep expansion joints must be plugged with suitable pre-forms before sealing.
  2. Insert the cartridge in the mechanical or pneumaticapplication gun and extrude the sealant, using nozzles of a diameter that is proportional to the width of the joint.
  3. Extrude an abundant quantity of sealant in the joint cavity.
  4. Smooth before the surface filming has started, by applying pressure on the material to completely fill, leaving no gaps and with complete adhesion of the sealant to the sides of the joint.

Cleaning of tools
Tools fouled with Acryl 10 should be cleaned with water while the product is still soft. Hardened product should only be removed by mechanical means or by using organic solvents (acetone, toluene).

Storage

Acryl 10 stored in the original packaging and at a temperature between +5 and + 25, the product will keep for at least 24 months. Partly used cartridges can be stored for approx. 3 months provided they are tightly closed. Protect from frost.

Warnings

The hardening of the material takes place by evaporation of water: the sealant will lose its initial tackiness within 20 to 120 minutes depending on ambient conditions. Low temperatures and high relative humidity will slow down hardening. High temperatures and low relative humidity will accelerate hardening. Do not apply Acryl 10 when rain is forecast: once applied but not yet filmed the sealant is liable to be washed away. Sealant which has not completely hardened will be damaged by frost.

Acryl 10 is indicated for sealing flexible joints between: masonry and door and window frames; roller blind boxes and walls; prefabricated wall and ceiling panels; through pipes and rendering. It is also suitable for sealing cracks and for the flexible sealing of wall panels. The adhesion of Acryl 10 is particularly good on porous substrate such as concrete, cement lime mortar, brick and wood. Once dry the product can be painted over
