Tile Primer

Improved adhesion, absorption and insulation pretreatment for the installation of tiles on gypsum, anhydrite and cementitious substrates.

Improved adhesion, absorption and insulation pretreatment for the installation of tiles on gypsum, anhydrite and cementitious substrates.

  • High insulating capacity
  • Good adhesion
  • Easy to apply
  • Solvent free
  • Dilutable with water
  • Extends the open time of adhesives
  • Prevents bubble formation
  • Prevents shrinkage cracks

Application areas

Choose Tile Primer for

  • for the treatment of gypsum substrates on which ceramic tiles are to be applied using cementitious adhesives. It protects the gypsum from humidity and insulates it from cement, preventing the known expansive reaction between cement and gypsum.
  • as a consolidating pre-spreading for cement-based substrates that are crumbling or need pre-treatment, before spreading Floorrep self-levelling mortar or Levellina 0-10, Levellina 5-30 and Levellina 5-40 cementitious levelling mortar.
  • as consolidation and waterproofing of cement surfaces.
  • as pre-treatment of cementitious substrates such as screeds or plasters before the application of cementitious adhesives or levelling compounds

Details

Tile Primer is a pre-treatment based on acrylates in water dispersion which once applied and dried forms a coloured, hard film with high water resistance. Tile Primer improves the adhesion of skimming and levelling surfaces by regulating the absorption on cement or anhydrite and gypsum-based surfaces.

Instructions for use

The substrate must be clean and dry. Shake the product before use. The product can be diluted with water (see table below).  Tile Primer can be applied with a brush, brush or spray. The application must be made above +5 °C and for external works it must not be made in imminent rain. Normally only one coat is sufficient. In case of very absorbent substrates repeat the treatment a second time. When the applied film is no longer sticky, it is possible to apply the tile adhesive or Floorrep self-levelling mortar or Levellina 0-10, Levellina 5-30 and Levellina 5-40.
Clean the tools with water while Tile Primer is still fresh. Dry residues should be removed with nitro solvent.

Storage

Tile Primer is frost sensitive. Store at temperatures above +5 °C. Remains stable for at least 18 months if stored in the original unopened packaging.

Warnings

  • Do not apply Tile Primer at temperatures below +5 °C. The product is sensitive to frost.
  • In case of external work, do not apply the product when it is about to rain.
  • Shake the product before use.
