Details
Domus is a neutral silicone sealant with a low modulus of elasticity, resistant to UV rays and atmospheric agents, ideal for use on façades, roofs, in interior fittings in the marine industry, tinsmithing, and in door and window frames. The presence in the formulation of an agent with antimicrobial and anti-algal action makes it suitable for use in sanitary environments: the product resists boiling water and washing with chemically aggressive detergents, thus contributing to the hygiene of surfaces. Thanks to its neutral cross-linking, it does not develop unpleasant odours during application, does not release acid or basic substances that can corrode metal substrates and does not affect paints. It has excellent adhesion on both porous (masonry, concrete, plaster, wood) and non-porous (metal, plastic, glass, enamelled and porcelain surfaces) substrates. Domus is classified as a non-structural sealant for facades (type F-EXT/INT-CC 25 LM) in accordance with EN 15651-1, for glazing (type G-CC 25 LM) in accordance with EN 15651-2 and for sanitary applications (type S1) in accordance with 15651-3.
Instructions for use
- The sides of the joint must be clean, degreased and dry. With porous substrates it is recommended to pre-treat with Primer Silicone. In deep expansion joints buffer with rigid foam profiles before sealing.
- Tape along the sides of the joint.
- Insert the cartridge into the cartridge gun, open it, screw on the nozzle and cut off the tip so that there is a sufficient opening.
- Inject plenty of sealant.
- Smooth with a spatula moistened with Smooth within 5 minutes of application, exerting pressure to eliminate air voids.
- Remove tape immediately after smoothing.
Cleaning tools: in the plastic state of the sealant with solvents; after hardening only mechanically.
Storage
Domus must be stored in a dry and cool environment. Under such conditions, it is stable for at least 18 months (24 months for version “Base caricata”). Cartridges that are not completely consumed can be stored for about 3 months if tightly closed.
Warnings
Domus is not suitable for structural bonding.
Not suitable for marble or natural stone substrates. In these cases apply Primer Silicone in advance or use Marble & Stone or Hybrid LM.

Its characteristics are such that the seals can absorb the movements transmitted by atmospheric, vibrational and mechanical stresses on the elements that make up a composite building or furnishing. Domus elastically connects the joint flanks, absorbing, without detachment, the movement of neighbouring building elements caused by differential thermo-hygrometric expansion or settlement. It therefore guarantees a perfect seal against water and air over time, reducing heat loss and preventing the formation of mould. The wide range of colours available is designed to match Domus with the painted metal profiles of sheet metal and window frames. Given the variety of paints on the market, however, it is always recommended to carry out preliminary adhesion tests.
